This collection contains eight black-and-white press photographs taken of Malcolm X at various events, as well as images taken of him at the [L.A.] courthouse, in front of his home after it was firebombed, and an image of him taken on a stretcher after he was assassinated.

The Phil Wilkes Fixico Collection (1966-2021, undated) contains documents relating to the life and career of Phil Wilkes Fixico, a Black-Seminole American activist and founder of the Semiroon Historical Society. Documents include photocopies of Fixico’s awards, certificates, degrees, and photographs, as well as articles focusing on Fixico and/or people of Black-Seminole heritage. Also included is a copy of A Man Called Horse by Glennette Tilley Turner.

The Spanish crown gave the Southern California lands of the Rancho San Pedro to Juan Jose Dominguez in 1784, and in 1858 the United States government granted a patent confirming Dominguez family ownership of the Rancho.
